Can't RIGHT click on desktop

Was trying to move some files to a USB on a friends Vista Home Premium but when I right clicked the desktop no menu appeared. I went into My Computer to see how full my USB was & couldn't find out that either. He has been having problems with this pc crashing & I'm trying to help. Need more info? Ask

@jobeard disregard, its a mouse problem. I plugged my wireless mouse in & right click works fine. Thank you for your help.
