Hello,

I wonder what would be the cheapest solution to set up a network storage.

I use to have a NAS server but unfortunately did it pack in a few months ago, also I am not to keen on it due to the electricity bill.

I have been looking at Netgear WNR3500L router and then attach an USB drive to it.

Any other better/cheaper ways of getting an USB drive.

will you be buying all new stuff or are you going to using anything you already have and if so what do you have. also how much do you want to spend

I like Buffalo Technologies drives (they're very cost competitive and have worked well for me last several years with no probs). They also make a drive which supports both USB and Ethernet connection. It's a bit more then their USB only drives but if you really want NAS storage is still a good price i think so you might want to check it out
