China is testing restroom machines that make you watch ads in exchange for toilet paper

Somewhere a product manager proudly saying user engagement up 400 percent while a guy with 3 percent battery left is just hoping he gets to the toilet paper before his phone dies. Truly a clash of KPIs.

Chit at home

- Helluva day when I'm agreeing with @RudyBob but... I never **** in public restrooms.

I will literally hold it or drive straight home if I'm local, or back to my hotel room if I am traveling.

Never really an issue for 364 days out of the year though because my diet isn't garbage and I don't drink myself stupid, so I **** once in the morning before I leave and then I'm good for the rest of the day on the vast majority of days.

You don't need toilet paper... You need toilet water...!

Great Day

I gotta plan my day around possibly shitting. Two resections does that to you. Bowel health is everyone's concern. HA!!

This reminds me of the Ready Player one movie, in which Nolan Sorento explains to the board of the IOI company that the next gen advertisement program in their virtual reality world will display ads on more than 90% of the user's HUD. Here we are. Welcome to the brave new world of tech!
This combined with AI and mass surveillance is really a nightmare to come IMHO.

Please, I bet you buy a new phone more than once per 5 years.
Heh, you just lost that bet.

Don't know about you, but I do have to use public restrooms daily. I have seem some mofos grab toilet and hand paper like there is no tomorrow. If in the place you live people are super civilized and only use what is reasonable, good for you. I have to deal with the as****es that don't give a damn who come after them.

I give them extra points if the ads are obnoxiously loud. If they want to make you suffer, then let it be proper suffering.
