You guys know basic liberties like freedom of speech don’t exist in China right? Consider this before you comment that China is somehow superior in any way to free nations. Sadly it’s the free nations fault by enabling this and exploiting human labor for low costs, especially American corporations.

free nations, that's cute. I do a lot better than most Americans, but when I do my monthly budget and look at how stupid the economy has become I don't think I'm free. The bank owns my house for the next 18 years and after considering insurance, taxes, bills and repairs, nearly 2/3rds of my income goto just having a house. You can't speak out against this system, you can't criticize it or else everything will be taken from you. Sure, we're supposed to have first amendment rights, but tell that to the bank who decides they don't like you from the data they bought from a data broker. They can, at any moment, ask you to pay off the remaining balance of the loan on your house. Companies that issue car loans do this all the time, it's not a big step to do it with housing. If you speak out in the US, they can take your house, destroy your credit and ruin your chances of getting a job or even a crappy apartment.

No matter how beneficial this relation is for USA, the end won't be pretty.
For reference, check how China treats its weaker neighbors. It bullies them. It WILL bully anyone who is weaker. Why help it get stronger today? A short term advantage for one major disaster.

For reference, check out how Uncle Sam has treated and continues to treat all its neighbors (and, to a certain extent, its "allies," for what matter, and some of those learn to do it too) and all over the world. He bullies them, attacks them, tries to crush them militarily, economically, financially, politically, supports dictators and dictatorships to do its dirty work, launches huge media offensives of propaganda and manipulation to create manufactured consensus against anyone who doesn't bend the knee (it works in some "brains"). Right now, he's threatening to attack another country in his "backyard" under false pretexts (the new "WMD") to redominate the region.

There are fewer than a half dozen mineable reserves of rare earths in the US. None of them have been viable since China began dumping rare earths at below market over the last thirty-ish years. There is one reserve in Wyoming that is estimated to be larger than all of China's - larger than any other on earth - but rare earth mining, processing, and refining is complex and expensive, and at China's market prices it's not possible to exploit them.

Yet. The tariffs may help jumpstart domestic production, but they'd need to stay in place a long time, because it takes years to go from mining to processing to market.

Trump is a great president. The best I have ever seen. Normal people appreciate that. China is having to accelerate their world domination plan and it will fail. They take and then make you pay for what wasn't theirs because the sell it so cheaply. That's how they planned to take control of countries. Thanks for this opportunity to set you on a better path
