I have another little problem I would like some help with .
every time I boot up my comp it wants to do a Chkdsk so
I went run* got the window between the lines put in a N
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
>>Select C:\WINDOWS\system32\Chkdsk.exe

The type of the file system is NTFS.
Cannot lock current drive.

Chkdsk cannot run because the volume is in use by another
process. Would you like to schedule this volume to be
checked the next time the system restarts? (Y/N) N
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
but still every time I start my comp is does the Chkdsk bit
can you give me an Idea on how to get rid of that ?
regards drecked

Have you tried just allowing it to run the Chkdsk one time to see what results, and to see if it will run normally thereafter?

yes I usually let it do what it wants to , But partition it does the checking on won't let
me fragment it because > it's says scheduled to run chkdsk /f ! ???
It's got me stuffed

1. click on your start menu and open the run dialog.
2. type "cmd" and return (note: dont enter quotes)
3. Next type "fsutil dirty query c:"
4. If the return message indicates that the volume is dirty go to step 5
5. Next type "chkdsk c: /f /x" (where c is the letter of the your os drive)
6. After that finshes repeat step 3.
7. If it is no longer dirty then reboot and you should notice no more
ckdisk.
