I have recently been having problem burning DVDs and keep getting communication error messages from Nero. I have changed the DVD drive and tried different media but still I get the problems. Also tried Nero 6,7 and 8, all fail.
Any ideas of what could be causing this? Thanks...

Can be a faulty DVD Drive data cable
Or the DVD Drive is not jumpered for Master (little jumper at the end of the DVD Drive)
Or the DVD drive requires a firmware update (but using the older version of Nero, I suspect not this)

Not sure why your nVidia video driver nvata.sys was mentioned

I forgot to say that the current drive is a SATA drive and the old unit was a IDE. Both appear to have the same problem. The drive is brand new, as I thought this was the problem.

Will try another cable and put my old drive in to see what appears in the error log. The only other thing I can think that has changed is that I upgraded the RAM from 1GB to 3GB and have installed Sony Vegas movie studio and DVD Architect.

Dont know what nvata.sys is, as I have an ATI Radeon AGP graphics card but the motherboard is an Nvidia SLI with 2 PCI Express slots.

Thanks for the help
