Computer boot up in a loop

my system set it so my monitor doesn't come out of stand by until my computer gets to the welcome screen. the only problem is, my computer doesn't get to the welcome screen! I leave it on for an hour, but my monitor doesnt come out of stand by. and i hear and see it rebotting the drives numerous times. what should I do? ITS URGENT!

Can you clear that up a bit?

When you first turn on the computer do you see the display?
If no, check Connections, and Monitor

You see the screen until it gets to the welcome screen?
Try Safe Mode, or Last known good configuration (press F8 key at startup)

You leave your computer to go to Stanby, but it never comes back?
Turn off System Stanby in power management

I mean whenever I turn on the computer, the monitor is in standby until it boots to the welcome screen. then the monitor comes out of standby. But the computer does not boot to the welcome screen. it just keeps rebooting the drives and stays in a loop.

If you have the Windows CD I would suggest a Repair option:

hmm interesting problem. Have you tried a different monitor? What happens when you try to go into safe mode?

i cant really try to go into safe mode because i cant see what im doing. is it possible to manually go back to a system restore ponit?
