Computer freezes after 5-20minutes of gameplay in CoD4

Hy, as the tile says my Computer freezes after 5-20minutes of gameplay in CoD4
Other demanding games are OK
idk when this happened for the 1st time but i know ui had everything on HIGH and 250fps lock and everything worked perfect
My specs
CPU: Intel Core Duo 2 CPU E6750 2.66GHz
GPU: Nvidia Geforce 9800GT
RAM: DIMM2: Kingmax KLDD48F-A8KB5 4 GB DDR2-800 DDR2 SDRAM
HDD: ST3160815AS ATA Device (160 GB, 7200 RPM, SATA-II)

Normally we would say you've got a heat problem but your temps seem to be fine. Therefore it probably is a driver issue. Do the following...

1. Download Driver Sweeper free version to your desktop screen and install.

2. Download the latest diver(s) for your video card but don't install them.

3. Uninstall your video card drivers and reboot your PC into Safe Mode. Run Driver Cleaner Pro or Driver Sweeper but ONLY for the video card drivers. I had someone use it on their chipset drivers! If it doesn't find any video card drivers that is quite okay; just leave all other drivers alone.

4. Reboot and install new video card drivers.

Thats just what i was trying to do. You see, i have an nvidia geforce video card
and i download the 260.99 and the 158.96 and both of them gives error while installing
I've done everything i could to install it
cleaned that **** with sweeper, restarted in safe mode, and still
i got an error saying the nvidia control panel could not be installed which may affect driver...
plz help me

EDIT: i've turned off the auto install device when he sees it and i cant turn it back on
when my computer gets in windows the auto install says device installation was preveted by policy, plz help

Did you build this system or is this a system like a Dell, HP, etc.?

Well, i bought components 1 by 1 if u asked that
its not a complete stock buyed PC
i got that video card 1.5 year ago and it worked perfectly

Update: Okay, i managed to get some drivers back (was without drivers for 30hrs -.-)
current version:8.17.12.5896
when i try installing the 181.71 i get the systen has not been modified -.-

Update: Well it seemes that i solved the problem
it was surely the nvidia drivers or the bios
cuz when i reseted the BIOS and let win7 install normal nvidia drivers it works (on low details atleast)
i jsut gotta test on med and high details as it was b4

Good for you. My next suggestion would have been to get the latest video card driver that works. Often we find the latest or newer drivers don't work in all cases.
