Computer Not Starting

My HP Desk top will not always start. When the on/off button is pressed the computer will start beeping. No image on monitor. If I hold the on/off button in for several seconds the computer will shut down then i am able ot press the on/off button again and the computer will start up normally. I increase the ram several weeks and this is when the problem started


Any suggestions?

Thanks Problem resolved

Reseated ribbon cable and new ram. Seems to have taken care of the problem
