Computers on network not obtaining IP address

I have an issue with my network. Part of the computers are able to get ip addresses from the router and therefore connect to the internet while others are assigned APIPA and are unable to use the resources.

I have tried releasing and renewing the ip on various computers but no luck. Even went ahead and restarted the router but still same problem.

I went ahead and checked for any installation that could have been made but the only recent updates were Microsoft essentials virus updates.

Remove all manual configuration settings and allow DHCP to do its magic

I don't have any manual IP configurations, the router is the one giving out IPs but gives to only a select few yet the range is big enough

I finally found the solution. It was one of the cables that had an issue.
