Constant freezing and lag spikes on Dell Studio 14

So i bought my Dell Studio 14 in November last year at the beginning i fell in love with how it ran. As a gamer it ran everything i wanted perfectly. However as the months progressed i realized around march it started slowing down alot, and eventually it got to the point where i had lag spikes every minute in games and if i would leave my computer on for about an hour it would freeze. I dont know what to do as i have tried everything even up to wiping out my whole hard drive and starting on a clean slate. Can anyone help me please. These are my specs:

Intel core i-7 q740 1.73 GHZ (2.93 GHZ in turbo mode max)
Windows 7 Home premium
6 gb shared dual channel ddr3 1333 mhz
ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5450 1GB
500 GB SATA Hard Drive (7200 RPM)

i wiped my whole hard drive... tried that advanced system pro crap the full version to check my registry cuz i dont know any good programs for that, ran anti virus and malware softwares...thats all i think

Go to Dell's website, find your exact model and update all the drivers, etc. to their latest offerings that they have for your system.
