Disable Wake On Lan (WOL)
- Win/7, 8, 8.1
- log on as Admin OR runas /user:administrator CMD
- type devmgmt.msc
- [a] scroll to Network Adapters and expand
- locate you LAN Nic, right-click->Properties
- click on the Power Management tab
- clear the checkbox for “Allow this device to wake up the computer”
- also make sure “Only allow a magic packet to wake up the computer” is clear
- click OK
- Win/10
- hold the Windows Key and strike X
- select the Device Manager
- follow the instructions above at [a] thru OK
