D-link DIR-825 with Motorola SB6121 cable modem

I am experiencing intermittent stoppages in internet connection, usually lasting 30sec-2mins. It happens maybe 10-12 times in a 6-hour computer session. How do I determine whether the problem is router, modem or cable feed?
