If you happen to be in the market for a streaming media device and/or are also interested in checking out Sling TV, Amazon and Roku are currently offering a handful of compelling deals that knock a significant chunk of money off the cost of entry.
In celebration of Sling TV’s arrival on the Fire TV set-top box and Fire TV Stick, Amazon is offering a free Fire TV Stick {pf id:110904 size:small} or $50 off a standard Fire TV {pf id:101169 size:small} for anyone that signs up for three months of Sling TV service which retails for $20 per month (or $60 up front for three months to take advantage of the offer).
Not to be outdone, Roku is offering a similar promotion on its set-top box {pf id:87628 size:small} and streaming stick {pf id:90683 size:small}. Much like the Amazon Fire TV box, the Roku 3 retails for $100 but can be yours at a 50 percent discount when you prepay for three months of Sling TV. Optionally, the $50 Roku Streaming Stick will be included free of charge in exchange for a three-month commitment.
It’s worth reiterating that Sling TV is typically a contract-free, no commitment service but to get in on the discounts offered in the bundles, you’ll need to agree to three months of service.
If you were planning to get a streaming device anyway, you can view the offer as a free three-month trial of Sling TV. Or, if you were already planning to pick up Sling TV, you can now get a free streaming device or half off of a premium set-top box.
The offer can't be combined with Sling TV's free seven-day trial and there's a limit of one device per new Sling TV account.
