Even though we're not in a court of law here, it's not difficult to find "proof". One example of the evidence was displayed in the article header images, an image of the woman in question being displayed on a TV box label. Samsung also failed to deny the images they used were of the plaintiff, they effectively admitted they used her likeness, deliberately and without her consent. Those are just two examples of evidence that that are publicly known. Unless Samsung can produce documents showing a contracted authorization to use her likeness, which they don't seem to have, they are at fault and libel.

No... they literally said that they had a 3rd party organization that arranged it and they assumed that they'd done their due diligence.

Now, whether that's actually true will need to be proven in a court of law - hence the whole "proof" thing...
