Deploying software in 2000 mixed stations?

Hi,

today am buffled with a new task and dont really know how to approach this monstrus thing.

basically i want to remove an old software from about 2000+ pc's that are all in a different domain/location/area... visiting all quarters and working on each domain seems like an endless task since it would be over 100... all acros the country...
after this i will have to install the new software for this corp again in 2000+ pc's ...
is there any way to remotely accomplish such a task? not having to remotely or visit and login to each individual system?

any advice much much appreciated. thanks

Sending directions, or even hard CDs with automatic running commands would be far easier and less demanding on your time (cost may be another factor though )
