Disk fragmenter not working

How do I fix this problem. When I click on it, the error message was 'Disk Fragmenter cannot start because the task scheduler service is not running. Start the task scheduler service and try again." HELP !!

Try going into your control panel. Then click on Administrative Tools Icon. Once this window opens scroll down to Services. Once you click on services and the window opens click on Task Scheduler. When it opens set it to auto.

You have not specified your Operating System. It makes a big difference. The last OS that actually benefited from defragmentation was XP. Later OS's are much better at not fragmenting in the first place.
Personally, I think the message is telling you all you need to know - the scheduler service is not running. It should be on automatic start.
