O.S. is a genuine, licensed Windows XP + SP3 CD. The hard disk was totally erased prior to that Windows XP installation.
No other HDs in machine. Once XP had been loaded (administrator account), I installed the now suspect anti-spyware program from its CD. No other software was installed, no connections to the Internet. Next, re-booted the PC and ran the anti-spyware program. But it reported several 'nasties', including Clear Search - which is spyware.
Since the HD was 'clean' prior to the installation; no other HDDs installed; a genuine licensed issue of Windows XP was used and only one item of S/W loaded - to wit, the anti-spyware program - all makes me think that the anti-spyware program contains spyware in itself.
Your thoughts and opinions, please.
