Driver Issues

I have a Nvidia 8800 GTS (320mb). My system soecs are vista 32-bit 4 gb of RAM, and duo core 2.13ghz. When I try to run FSX(without DX10) I can't even run it with full settings and it goes at about 10fps. If I try running it in full screen of with DX10 it crashed my computer. On youtube I've seen videos of peopl running it way better than I am with worse specs. Recently the Sims 2 also doesn't start up since it doesn't detect any compatible DX9 adpaters. What is going on here? During FSX crashed Vista identifies the driver as an issues. (It's up to date)

well maybe it has something to do with the fact your running vista? I haven't used it but ive heard its really buggy.
