DVD Problems

Hello there, I'm having some problems with my PC playing DVD's and I figured I would see if you guys could help me out.

When I put the DVD in my LITEON DVD ROM LTD163 drive, nothing happens. When I go to manually play the disc, an error message comes up saying that either the disk is corrupted or it is not formatted properly.

I have PowerDVD V4.0, and when I try to play it with that program, it claims that it cannot read the disc's format.

Yet I'm using ordinary DVD movies that play fine anywhere else. Any ideas?

Just to let you know,
I am running XP SP 2
I have an ATI 128 MB Graphics card
And 256MB of stinky, slow RAM

Thank you for your time =)

DVD drives last about a year under average use.
The more frequently they are used, or the more frequently they are used for burning, the shorter their life.
It sounds to me as if your DVD drive has reached the end of its useful product life. If your LiteOn is less than a year old, give proof of purchase, and they will give you another that will last to the end of the original warranty on the one that has failed.
