What just happened? It’s that time of year again: the Epic Games Store’s Mega Sale is back, and with it comes discounts, unlimited coupons, and a free game in the form of NBA 2K21. The event runs until June 17, so there’s plenty of time to take advantage of the offers.

This is the third Epic Games Store Mega Sale. As with previous promotions, members can grab the Epic Coupon offer that knocks $10 off any game that costs $14.99 or more. Best of all, the deal doesn’t run out; every time a coupon is redeemed, you’re given another. The only products they can’t be used with are pre-purchases, season passes, DLC, and in-game items such a Fortnite V-Bucks. Just sign into your Epic Account and hit the “GET MY EPIC COUPON” button.

Anyone who already pre-purchased a game that launches during the sale period will receive a partial refund to their account for the $10 voucher, which is good as there are few things more frustrating than discovering you just missed out on a discount.

Running alongside the sale is Epic’s usual weekly free game giveaway. From now until May 27, you can download NBA 2K21 gratis. It’s the first of four games being given away during the event, so make sure to check what’s new each week.

Additionally, there’s a slew of reductions reaching up to 75% across many titles. Some of the highlights include Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla down to $44.99, Cyberpunk 2077 reduced to $47.99, Red Dead Redemption 2 at $40.19, and Outriders now $44.99. Moreover, those prices are without the 10% coupon added, so buyers will pay even less.

I have a massive library of games on Epic, some are really big realeases (like GTA V and Watchdogs or Alien Isolation) and they were all for free, yet I don't play anyone, looks like I've finally reached adulthood 😢

You'll play them eventually. Or not, it doesn't matter. Gaming is a hobby, not a way of life. Sometimes other things take up more time or are more fun.
I've been gaming for over 20 years and I certainly skipped a few years in between.

NBA 2K21 giveaway... Is this the casino game with real money?!
Nope, not interested. I hate gambling.

I wish people would stop buying the EA style microtransaction, lootbox games and not reinforce these really bad monetization efforts.
Almost every AAA game has to have some garbage live service aspect in the wake of these business practices or they are garbage open world collect 100 flags time wasters.

I've seen some of the deals on other places like GOG (like 80% off the Witcher series and 20% Cyberpunk or Hotline Miami for 2$) and Humble. Humble also has a nice Bandai Namco bundle that I suggest people take a look at if they like their games.

Please buy that Namco Humble Bundle - I want to play some of you Techspotters in some Tekken 7.

Here's a discord invite in case you pick up T7 in the next week and you wanna duke it out (I haven't played in a long time since I have no one to play it with)

There is nothing free about the game, it's a microtransaction hell game that probably should have been free to begin with.
Na, I checked. Out of all the Free games I have acquired on EPIC, I've not once paid at anytime to play or had a microtransaction. I checked with my Doctor, therapist, family and friends. In conclusion it was found that I'm not a TOTAL MUG, in control of all my functions, fully grown and mature.
I'm starting a funding page and campaign to help those MUGS out there that cannot stop themselves or whatever it is (maybe I should start a research fund?) and so wrongly have to spout off showing they have no premise of Free. Don't worry, I'll PM you the details in due course..

I bought it when I made that comment and I would love to play with you, but unfortunately I'm really busy right now. We'll see in the future if I find some free time for some nice R&R with some of you gamers :)

You might make or poke fun at it, but, these games are the ruin of actual gaming, Madden, NBA2k, FIFA, MLB the EA business model is nothing more than gambling, if you want a real laugh watch a video of EA versus UK Parliament about lootboxes. It's predatory practice and yes while some like yourself may have control most apparently do not and that's how you end up with Call of duty modes heavily monetized.
