I just recently got an external drive, when i put movies on it, my computer goes blank then i have to restart it, this doesn't always happen but it happens every other movie it seems like, i was just wondering if there is a solution? I'm not really good with computers

Is it a Portable Hard Drive powered theough USB, or does it have it's own external power source?
If it's a Portable Drive, it sounds like it's drawing too much power & causing the PC to crash. If you are using the front USB ports, try the rear ones.
