I am using ADATA Classic CH91 external HDD. It's only 3 months old & was working fine till yesterday.
But suddenly today when I connected it, although the 'safely remove hardware' icon is showing in the taskbar but it is just showing Local Disk (G) in 'My Computer', although it has a different name. And whenever I try to click on this 'Local Disk (G)', the 'My Computer' stops responding. I've checked it with different computers, but the same problem persists. Even when I went to Disk Management, whenever I click on this disk, it stops responding. I've tried changing the drive letter, it did not help. However, Disk Management is showing it to be "Healthy (active)".
Can this problem be solved without losing data?
