Failed to find DX9c compatible graphics adapter

I just installed the Sims 2 Life Stories and when i tried to launch it i got an error message that says : Failed to find any DirectX 9.0c compatible graphics adapters in this system! Please make sure you have a DirectX 9.0c compatible graphics adapter and have installed the latest drivers provided by the manufacturer. This application with now terminate.

help me pleaaaaaase i wanna play!

Usually means Windows couldn't find the right graphics driver for your monitor. So, Windows uses it's own generic VGA driver instead (which works fine so you can use monitor for basics but the generic driver doesn't support what's needed for games)

You need make sure your graphics driver is installed and running. To find your Driver files
Click for the driver page listed by System Vendor. Find your System Vendor, click for their driver support site. Enter your model number, then download your drivers as needed
