A terrible tragedy: Professional CoD Mobile player Ingrid Oliveira Bueno da Silva, aka "Sol," has been murdered by another player in Brazil. The killer, who reportedly planned the attack weeks in advance, filmed the act and shared it via WhatsApp.

According to a report by R7, 19-year-old Silva was murdered by a male player called Guilherme Alves Costa, also known as "Flashlight," after the pair met online. Having discovered a book in which Costa wrote down what he wanted to do to the victim, police deemed the act to be premeditated.

He confessed to the killing during his arrest, stating that his "sanity is completely apt." When asked what motivated the murder, Costa said he "wanted to do this."

In addition to carefully planning the murder beforehand, Costa recorded the crime and shared it with the Gamers Elite organization's WhatsApp Group.

"This Monday afternoon, [Guilherme] sent a video on the organization's group on WhatsApp in which he supposedly had just killed a woman, filmed and shared the video," the group wrote in an Instagram post. "He also sent a PDF where he leaves messages of hatred against Christians and makes a nod to terrorism. After the clan leadership became aware of what happened, we organized ourselves and took necessary measures: We informed the appropriate authorities and asked all our members not to share the video of the alleged crime."

According to Rod Breslau, an eSports consultant and insider, a professor in Brazil was sent an email by Costa titled "a commendable act" that promised new attacks. It included links to videos that the recipient refused to open or share.

Silva was a member of the FBI eSports team. A spokesperson said, "She was an extraordinary person, whom we will remember every day that the sun rises, every day that the sunlight touches our body, every time we look at the Sun, we will remember her."

Breslau tweeted that according to the IPEA's Atlas of Violence 2020, a woman was murdered in Brazil every two hours in 2018, totalling 4,519 victims.

In 2017, a $1.50 wager over a Call of Duty match led to the death of a man who wasn't even involved in the game. Tyler Barriss was sentenced to 20 years in federal prison for the swatting incident that saw 28-year-old Andrew Finch killed by police.

Hopefully, "justice" will be done in that Brazilian prison.

I've seen plenty of videos from Brazil to indicate that the prison population won't take kindly to this waste of resources.

Other prisoners? They are the same kind. It's funny people think prisoners do some after court justice in jail...It's actually retarded to think that. Better keep your jail porn fantasies for yourself.
Tell that to the one prisoner in my city that kept three young girls captive for nearly a decade in his basement. The official cause of death is suicide, but we all know better. There's no way he could've hung himself while he was on suicide watch.

Prisoners perform after-court justice all the time. They especially don't like pedophiles and child-killers and dole out justice on them regularly. Jeffrey Dahmer met his death at the hands of prison justice as have countless other pedos and child-killers, so maybe you should actually do some research instead of stooping to name-calling. Your moronic statement makes the assumption that the folks in prisons all committed the same. Last time I checked, prisons house everything from common thieves to murderers, and everything in-between.

What's with the TITLE? There are murders everywhere in this world, for any possible reasons, or even without any reason that we could try to comprehend. But the way this news being told it is narrated as if there is male vs female battle.

Why Techspot? Are you trying to divide us? Are you playing the identity politic game?

I’m not sure who’s worse: social justice warriors who use their platform to inform, or the anti-social justice warriors who feel that they have to jump up to defend or fight against the social justice warrior’s premise.

Actually: I do know who’s worse. It’s the latter.

Yeah, there are 4500+ women murdered in Brazil each year, and 50,000+ men. But apparently murdering men is not worthy of mention.
Unless there are 50,000 men, (hombres), murdered, and 5,000 women (mujeres), murdered over video game disputes a year, (por ano), in Brazil, you're simply quoting off topic and irrelevant statistics.

FWIW, Portuguese is the language of Brazil rather than Spanish. I'm sure you knew this but momentarily forgot.

Yo lo se Portuguese es la lengua de Brazil. Pero yo no entiendola de completo. Y entonces uso Espanole porque es muy cerca a esa lengua.

PS: My spell checker doesn't understand either Spanish or Portuguese...

FWIW, they seem to sub out "H" for "J" in many cases. "Woman", = (SP) "Mujer", Pg "mulher".

?That's coming down, isn't it?

Who is talking about pedos? They are both the same age and she is 19? And it's not about justice, it's about "hierarchy". They kill both pedos and informants... That says all you captain justice.

Never let him out?

I think you mispelled: "EXECUTE HIM".

You said it for me so its calm!

Sometimes murders are "manslaughter" so I understand death penalty is not the most ideal thing. That said, for people who willingly go out and murder someone should just be executed. You can't rehabilitate that, feeding it for too long and providing beds/electricity is draining the economy and while injections still needs supervision and money, its still better than having that waste of space drain society. Either that or use them for human testing. Who the **** cares other than human rights. You murder someone, in my books you loose all human rights, you are just an animal at that point.

#1 All murders are homicide. Not all homicide is murder.

#2 the key distinction is "premeditation" .

#3 Manslaughter: the crime of killing a human being without malice aforethought, or otherwise in circumstances not amounting to murder.

What this scumbag did was plan her murder and carry it out. I'd gladly sign him up for that lethal injection.
