Come on, we have to platforms for our desktop computers Intel and AMD its a no brainer

If Microsoft is to freaking lazy to test there OS on both platforms, then they don't deserve our money.

Oh wait, that's right, I didn't pay for windows. And guess what I never will give them another penny either. But I'm sure they already no that. I'm sure my remarks are being sent directly to them as I type.

No tinfoil hat is required. Of course MS and Intel are working together to maximize the effect of Win11 and 12th Gen.

MS wants to incorporate another layer of security technology that provides no benefit to the masses. But how to justify it? It's obvious, time the rollout to coincide with Intel's new line of processors. Sweeten the medicine so it doesn't taste so bad. That gets the peasants onboard. MS then supports Intel by temporarily scotching AMD performance.

It's a 'win-win' situation for Intel and MS. Hehehehe.

But that's business as usual. Adam Smith wrote: “People of the same trade seldom meet together, even for merriment and diversion, but the conversation ends in a conspiracy against the public, or in some contrivance to raise prices.”

I think people are forgetting that lots of laptops are sold in the holidays and 80% of laptop CPU's are intel, so it's in Microsoft's best interest that Intel 12th gen is stable and efficient in time for the launch. AMD PC builders can just wait until Windows 11 is patched. I'm waiting until December/January before installing Windows 11.

Interesting thoughts. I'm curious how this happens too. Is testing for performance regression on all major CPU architectures really not a standardized and automated part of the windows QA process? Or, quite possibly it is but the particular tests chosen did not show an issue. That's my guess.

While I wouldn't think Microsoft would do this intentionally... I do wonder if AMD has asked them for explanation and to state on the record that they do not... just in case.

Well MS uses the Insiders to test which is a test of hardware configurations in the real world. It's not all configuration but it's better testing than MS can do in their controlled environment.
