Format Hard disc, need to b/u Microsoft Office

I have an Inspiron laptop that came as is (no installation discs... office, drivers, but I do have the Dell XP OS) through my father's company. My problems with it have led me to the need to format it but I don't have microsoft office discs Any chance I can back these up? Copy it to my backup drive? Anything w/o paying for new ones?

I don't know anybody who has made it work well...
The best choice is to use Acronis, and copy the entire drive to the new drive after formattting.
Then us the Dell XP OS disk to boot in the R repair mode (Not the Repair Console) and let it fix what it can.
Otherwise you are going to need those install disks to create a reliable, working install... Reliable and working are key... otherws will tell you it can be done, but it is rare in our experience.
