Galaxy Note 7 explodes in New York, burns six-year-old child

This report/article is inaccurate. The story of the phone catching fire in a boys hand in New York had nothing to do with a Note 7, it was a Galaxy Core which a simple Google search can reveal but I know because I watched the actual story on the news as they interviewed the family - http://www.nbcnewyork.com/news/loca...nd-Explosion-Brooklyn-New-York-393131791.html

Of course, less people would click on a story if it said that a Galaxy Core burned someone because it's not a hugely popular phone nor is it a hot topic like the Note 7 is at the moment. This may have just been a mistake on the writers part.

I don't see how it wen't from being the best phone of 2016 to being the worst? Once the battery us replaced and the model is updated, it's still a superior phone!!

What do they look for to identify the bad batteries (when you bring your phone in)?

that is a good question, since 2 companies made the batteries.
you would think that they should have a part number associated with it.. but then again that is too logical

What triggered you? Kids that don't even know how to read know how to operate a phone and parents download games and put youtube in it for them to play/watch.

You must have had a fun childhood.
the fact that children are overhyped and under-disciplined these days.
