Inactive Google Chrome Process

I'm having issues this morning with my computer performance. I noticed it was running a bit slow and there was high memory and cpu usage even while very few programs were open. I pulled up the Task Manager and found several instances of a Google Chrome Process running even though Chrome was not open. When I tried to end the process a new one would pop up.
