Hang at setup is inspecting your computers configuration

hello,im biulding another comp for one of my kids,its old amd athon 950 mhz.it hangs at setup is inspecting your configuration,i tried a hard drive that i was useing and got,,, trap 00000006 exception..i cant get into command promt or safe mode.kinda lost here any help be appreciated

Remove any sound, USB, modem or network cards and try the install again. Don't use a preloaded hard drive. Make sure the hard drive is freshly formatted
