How do I change the sorting options in W7 back to how it was in XP?

I often like to sort my data based on date modified, or filetype. In XP this was easy, it just rearranged the files.

Now, in W7, Date Modified breaks all the files up into separate headings of various sorts, and Type groups everything into subfolders of each particular type.

How can I get it to display the sorting options simply, like XP?
