How to activate a Battlefield 2 online account

me and my bro have been tryin all day to get our new battlefield 2 online game to work. we downloaded it and everything and we cant figure out how t make a new account and connect to a server. we got nothin. if anyone has advice hollar at us. we been dyin to try this game out online. thanx

You say you downloaded the game? from EA or as a torrent from piratebay.If you got it from PB or other torrent site forget it.If this is a legit copy make sure the game is patched with 1.41 and then 1.50, install punkbuster and have bf2 punkbuster definitions updated.You may also need to tweek your firewall to allow access to the account server.try these first
