How to fix black screen on Dell XPS M1730?

I have a Dell XPS M1730, sometimes it works, i click system restore, and it fixes for couple hours, but then the screen goes black, all the lights come on, but no sign of the screen, i read about the ram, i put new up, it worked for like 5 restarts, then it went black again, does anyone know any solutions? i m trying to get it back up to do updates, maybe that would help?

Does it run in safe mode?

Also, try connecting it to another monitor and see if it is the same.

Have you got the OS disk, try running a system repair.

Have you recently installed any new software, anti virus, games, etc?
