*Yawn* Windows 8 appears to be the second coming of Me. A travesty. And honestly I have yet to find anyone excited about upgrading. The only people who seem to care are tablet and phone manufacturers. So that appears to be what this is, a phone OS that will be utterly rejected by everyone else.

You clearly don't get around much on tech forums. Every site I've been to has had a very huge mix of people covering the entire spectrum from HATE win8 to LOVE win8.

That's interesting because the vast majority of the sites I frequent only have "love" for Win8 when it's paid for by MS. The three conferences I have attended in the last 6 months have had nothing about Win8 except, again, when it was paid for by MS. HP, Dell, Samsung, LG, and Lenovo have all had the same reaction (privately). That reaction has been: Yeah, this thing will pretty much go away after a year on the market. Only Nokia seems legitimately interested in it. And independent developers I have worked with and spoken to all have said that they would skip it entirely if they get the chance, for now they are learning some of the basics for it in case they ever need it, but it appears that consumers don't care about it. Now I have seen a lot of hate for Win8, but when it's not being bought, I have yet to see any real "love" for it.
