HP brings Windows 7 back 'by popular demand'

Flow problems? Have you heard of a little thing called the scroll wheel on a mouse?
Whoops, maybe I should have read your response more thoroughly before I made that statement. Apologies for that, but none-the-less I have experienced Windows 8 on laptops before, non-touch, and I didn't see any stuttering as you mention it.

I won't purchase 9, or at least not until I've had 8 for 5 years, and honestly I cant say I'm too bothered with that decision as 8 has served me well and probably will do so for the remainder of those 5 years.

Say what you will about Windows 8, but it was an OS that needed to be released. Microsoft needed an entry into the, in my opinion, waste of space app market that is so popular on Android and IOS. So they made this first, controversial, bid but the next version should be vastly better, with the current version being bridged with updates until that next version lands.

So you rushed out and bought Windows 8 straight out of the starting gate but wanna try to make me believe your gonna wait 5 years before you upgrade to Windows 9??? Yeah..uhh....okee then.
And please explain why Windows 8 needed to be released on the desktop? That's where it has failed to establish itself the most, that's why Microsoft is already talking about releasing Windows 9 in just over a year. Windows 8 was not an operating system that needed to be released for desktops. Had Windows 8 not been released as a one-size-fits-all operating system, Microsoft could have avoided all the negativity that it has had to endure if they had been "patient". They are following the exact same course they should have been following all along. The only problem is that they made one detour, releasing Windows 8 for a desktop audience, that, I personally, would have been more than willing to wait the 2 extra years for, to get it in the form that it should have been from the beginning.

Still, thanks to all you guinea pigs who did all the beta testing for me. My next operating system is on the way. Windows 9 should be an operating system that I can be proud of. *fingers crossed*

"Windows 8 is a big step forward in terms of form and function and simply put, it’s just not for everyone."

No. Winbloze 8 is an unmitigated disaster the same as Visa, the same as Win ME (more errors).

As usual M$ has shot themselves in the foot trying to force something that might be new but is NOT better.. it's worse.

Not like that is a trend for them eh?

Why all the comments on " touch screen" devices when the news item is about the Desktop PC" ? I have a slew of clients wanting new PCs but won't unless I can provide retail version of Win 7 Ultimate which is no longer available.
