Hello,
I managed to get past the service tag...thanks to all the info out there. Lots of reading but got it done. My next problem is I have the Admin & User password and cannot remember for the life of me(probably was the same for the bios).I did try the ctrl-alt-del thing but I cannot bypass them, any suggestions would be awesome!
Thank you,

Need major help on a dell inspiron b130 BIOS Password

I did a ownership transfer but however the warranty is off and dell wants 250.00 plus tax from a CC to give me the bios password and hdd password, right now i am not working and need this laptop cause my desktop is dead... is there a way to short the Dell inspiron B130?

Service Tag G8DNBC1
Express code 35335169569

It wont boot to CD OR a floppy drive, it just goes to the Gray and white screen asking for the password with Service Tag ending in -595B, i heard that some people like Rustm_ can do but it is hard to get a hold of him, ANY HELP WOULD BE HUGELY APPRECIATED

Greetings All.. I have a Dell c640 that I purchased at a Flea Market for $250, When I bought this machine it did not have a power supply with it.. There was just enough charge in the battery at the time it would get halfway through post then would power off. Okay I thought, all looks good.. I'll just grab a POwer Supply off eBay for it. After waiting for like a month and a half for the Power supply to arive, I was happy when it did and figured I would have a fairly decent notebook that my kid could use for school and if it got ripped off, it wouldn't hurt all that bad. Anyways, I charged up the battery on this, powered up and got the dreaded grey screen.. Needless to say I was choked, I have been searching different forums, over the months have disassembled the machine a couple times trying the paperclip method, I have tried 3&6, 5&7, and probebly every other combination known to man...everytime the notebook powers off as soon as I short the chip. I really don't want to have to spend yet another 100 dollars on this thing to have it unlocked online, What I thought would be a decent cheap system for my Kid to use for school has turned into something almost annoying as a pimple on the ***. I'm at the end of my rope with this thing.. do I fire it out the window and cut the loss or can someone help, it would be greatly appreciated.

Change Service tag on Dell M1530 Laptop

I have been waiting weeks for Dell to replace my motherboard on my laptop. They finally show up and replace but forget to change the service tag to reflect my current one.

My question is does anyone still have the software to change service tags on a Dell laptop? Paragon33 had the DST CD ISO but all the links all dead from the past. Can someone please send me the files to change the service tag myself because I hate calling Dell. Thanks

re c640

you can short 3+56 that gives you the best result but short it random try when you power up and try it when its starting when you want i send you the full version paperclip doc.the methode i have it from paragon

Dell is the easiest, fastest way. They will send the tech back with software to do this. Any other method puts the computer at risk of greater failure. The tech had the disk if he is a Dell tech or a warranty tech. He or She probably still has it.
Just demand what you paid for and what you have to the right to do.

I have tried 3&6 directly after I pushed the powerbutton.. with the same result everytime.. The machine powers off, and still no unlock :( Also just tried the 3+56 simutaneously.. with no luck...

HP NC8230 laptop Bios Admin Password

Hello all hardware wizards, sorry to take your precious time  .

I just purchased HP NC8230 laptop from eBay. It's really great laptop. The laptop not require boot password and so it reaches to windows XP, but unfortunately I discovered that its bios is admin protected, therefore I can't access bios and make any modification. I know that these business laptops have extra bios protection and therefore it's not so easy task to reset their password.

Can someone, that have experience with this kind of laptops, help me? It would be very appreciated.

remove small battery CMOS BACKUP and short the EEPROM pins 4 and 6 and let them shortied while powering...for 5seconds then unshort and reboot ......enjoy!!!

Above link is mainly for Dell laptops. On my HP NC8230 I even don't know how to get hash code, since the sequence is not F2+F12, Bios accessible by pressing F10 not F2. After I got request for the password and I press F12 nothing happening.

Correct. I believe it was first made for Dell password help.

But it is now extended to HP, and therefore all questions and support (ie answers!)
