Huawei can't use microSD cards now either

The true face of capitalism. Until we stop legal bribes to our politicians via lobbying and campaign contributions corruption will remain rampant. Oh it's ok because their Chinese? Are they really so bad? Who buys their sweat shop products? No one cares about that. Oh yeah that's right, no one gets rich by eliminating sweat shops.

Your smart phone was made in China... The "security" concern is just smoke and mirrors. It's all about the money.
All you say wont matter after a dictatorships like China has all the market in addition to our factories and tech they already stole. Suckers are milking us to death. It is a crime that previous presidents allowed this to go for so long. Western rulers are to blame the same as China because they ALLOWED this to happen.

Now not only another culture is profiting of this, it is a psychopathic cancer struck communist regime that is milking western world to death. This is death crippling on our economies. If you dont see that, maybe you should read more about it. This is a disaster that will hit harder than our national debt.

Consumer chose to purchase foreign produced products that are of similar quality but cost less them American produced ones. That's Capitalism.

Any act that increases American production is going to involve higher prices all around. And the past 250 years or so should also show wages won't follow those price increases. So that means less "stuff" for all of us.

You're really looking at a long term economic problem: As automation and the continued drive for lower production costs continue to reduce the number of well paying jobs, what is society going to do about it? That's one reason why many countries are at least running experiments on Universal Basic Incomes. But long term? There's going to be a *massive* job crunch.

Or you can do the way Sweden has been experimenting by changing the full time work hours. Get full pay and work less hours, more get to work and little trouble for the economy.

You say Potato....

I believe the correct pronunciation of Huawei is actually "OWIE", and you say it like you've just had your ARM cut off!

Good. I say keep up the pressure; no need to facilitate PRC national interests; they are incompatible with our own.

General rule: Do whatever the Norse countries do economically.

Lets get real here. Huawei has not used SD cards Since the Mate 20 launched. They have their own proprietary card called the Nano memory card, so them being booted out of the SD card alliance means diddly.

Yeah maybe we can turn the tables, bring those 35 hour shift .31 cent an hour factory jobs back to America. Damn Chinese have had it way to good.

Thats still more money than minimum wage in mexico (141$ A month or 4.7$ a day)

Someone said that Huawei became very cheap because of the problems it has with the US. That its price has dropped from $1200 to just $150. Well, turned out to be a lie. It's still over $1000 for the cheapest P30-Pro model.

China! the new North Korea.

Its amazing how blind people are to China's dictatorship.
The world would be a better place if we all stopped buying China made products.
100% Agree.
As I see it, it is a choice to do business with China, and in so doing, support all the slave labor and corruption that goes with it and all in the name of profits.

Pretty much every product you make is made in a country that either exploits its workers or is a dictatorship. Be it shoes, beauty products, or whatever. So stop the selective criticism; either apply this view across the board and live like a hermit, or deal with it.

There's one reason alone why China is getting singled out while every other country that does the same stuff isn't even mentioned: Politics.

There is nothing selective about starting with the worst.

Except China is *far* from the worst offender. Countries like Vietnam and Thailand are worse, as is most of SE Asia (where a *lot* of stuff quietly gets produced).

Again: The focus on China is pure politics in action.

We are looking at this from two different perspectives. I'm looking at the worst country we are supporting the most through imports. Our shelves are filled with products that are "Made in China". We don't condone the behavior within our borders, but we will pay our neighbor to keep the tradition alive.
