I can't get my router working

i have a linksys wireless-g broadband 2.4ghz router by cisco system i followed all the steps to hook up this router and it will not connect to the internet infact it chows on my windows 7 pc as a gaeway router please help am i doing something wrong

What kind of Internet connection do you have? Cable, DSL, Satellite?

Have you used the install software that came with the router? If so, you have to provide your Comcast user name and password, then select Broadband connection and make sure DHCP is enabled
