I dropped my gpu onto my motherboard

I get hitches quite a bit, but you're saying that they are 2-3 seconds long? mine only last like half a second.

Okay , I will try that and see how it goes after a while, and umm oh so you do get hitches too? I'm not sure if it 2-3 seconds long or not but it just that it's quite jarring when suddenly the fps drops massively so it felt kinda long to me :S anyway I would like to say thanks again for helping me narrowing down my problem, but I really need to be off now it's extremely late in my part of the world , I will get back to you on how it goes with the audio once plugging into mobo directly.
Thanks again!

Have your problems been solved?

I just had a quick question. What are your specs, and is it a pre- built, or a self- built?

Oh sry hasn't been back on here till now was busy with uni works and umm also testing out with games/ videos to try to find the solutions, connecting directly didn't solve the problem but... I tried switching out gpu.. to my unused 1070 and... the problems are gone.. including the stuttering in game has been reduced to just a slight half a second lag to instead of 2-3 solid seconds.. sound popping is also gone too, what should I do now? I check out the website of retailer I bought gpu from they said the warranty is still valid, but what should I write as symptoms? especially when the popping/stuttering happens randomly?

As for y our question, it's self-built and my spec is i7 6700 , 1080ti (well now 1070) 16 gb gddr 4 ram and umm for psu it's seasonic 1000 watt. oh and mobo is gigabyte :B150M HD3 CF

As of right now I'm trying to use my pc as much as possible to see if 1070 also have same problem but for the life of me I cannot recreate the problem on 1070

Ok, well, at least we narrowed it down to that. But it stinks that your GPU is broken. For symptoms, I would say that there is freezing in the game, frame rate is hitching. You can also say that you have figured out that the GPU is the culprit. Since you're not using HDMI audio, I can't figure out why the popping and stuttering was your GPU.?‍♂️

My guess might be it's the stutter that also cause audio lag or sth im not sure in any case thank you very much for helping me out :)
