I'm not sure what you mean by "it just automatically read the disk".

You may need to adjust boot order in BIOS.

i mean i dont have to press anything the disk automatically starts running and it says optical drive on my computer and i was guess that was the same as CD rom because i dont have that option

im so confused.

i put the desk in a burned and it started to work i saw the little bar thing as it loaded but after it finishes I get a blue screen but then when I restart it says that the operating system is not found amd i suppose to keep the disk in or do i take it out when i restart from the blue screen.

I am serious when I seay I am not a computer person...this is all really confusing to me.

I took it too geek squad they said it just needs the disk and i have to order it from sony.


This is so frustrating, I just want to get my stuff off now. If I get a Mac is it less issues like this? My mom is getting me a new laptop next week.

Ask a friend, who is little bit more computer savvy to help you out.
If your hard drive is still readable, you can slave it in another computer (or use USB hard drive enclosure) to get your data off of it.

Unfortunately I mived out of state for college so I'm no longer in touch with that friend.

If the cd from sony works if i take the files off and do a system recovery, will it wipe out all viruses?
