IE on my friend's computer has become very very slow, almost stationery. I have pinged servers OK so the connection to the outside world works. I can't see what is wrong. Any ideas how to troubleshoot/fix?

Many thanks

Have you tried reinstalling IE or looking for newer updates? Also, have you tried using another browser. Try using firefox or another browser.

Is the rest of your computer slow too? Check for spyware and viruses.

Look through all of your internet settings to make sure they are set right.

Hi, We're running a full scan now but as the computer has full security I don't think that'll be the issue. When it started going slow, my friend upgraded to IE8 (beta). Apparantly it has got progressively slower since a house move, It was getting DSL from NTL before.

It seems there is a problem in winsock that the computer says it is correcting but if it does, it makes no difference!
