I bought a new computer yesterday and decided to add another hdd.
Here is my new machine specs
Gateway FX6710-01 with an Intel Core 2 Quad Q9400, 6 GB DDR2 SDRAM PC2-6400 ram, 750 GB -Serial ATA-300 - 7200 rpm, ATI Radeon HD 4850
512 MB, Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit Edition.
I have a Western Digital Caviar Green WD10EACS 1TB SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive that is Brand New.
I Installed the hdd and everything looks OK
Bios recognizes it
Computer Management sees it
When I try and format the disc so I can use it I get this Message
The operation cannot be completed because the disk is not initialized
What does this mean. I cannot figure this out. Any and all help is appreciated!
In computer management > storage the hdd was showing I had to right click where it says Disk 1 not where the hdd storage information was. What a pain in the keister.
When I would right click where the storage volume is I could create a simple volume but I would get the error message saying the disk was not initialized.
Problem solved!
