OK, but I was thinking that if I fail to clean things up, then a solution might be to use an old system restore point. If a piece of Malware exists in System Restore can that be running? Doesn't it just sit there doing nothing?
Thanks

doing nothing?......after everyscanninbg of antivirus,if you find any trojan, nasties [run in safe mode also].is a must to empty system restore..
run malwarebytes in windows and safe mode also..

ok, I have now read the thread and your logs (posted a week ago)

Please uninstall SUPERAntispyware

Please uninstall your free AVG9
Then run the AVG Remover tool: http://www.avg.com/filedir/util/support/avgremover_en.exe
Then Restart

Run IE Reset Fixit Tool:

Or manually from here https://www.techspot.com/vb/post682762-2.html

Startup Malwarebytes (in Normal Mode)
Update it, and run a Quick scan
Remove any found Malwares at the end of the scan

Download free Avira Antivirus http://www.free-av.com/
Update it (the first couple of updates can be slow, this is normal)
Run a full scan (also report on how this went)

----------

Note a Virus can easily run from System Restore, as soon as Restore is accessed
Disable System Restore (to remove all old System Restore point) Info howto HERE

----------

Restart
And provide a fresh HJT log, plus let me know how its running
