ComputerWorld.com has posted a troubleshooting guide for the X, and as there's no Home button, there are some solutions you will need when the cases arise.

  • Force restart
  • attempt reset (w/o data lost)
  • low battery issues
  • unresponsive in cold weather
  • Green Lines
  • Crackling audio
  • iMessage problems
  • force app to quit
  • app fails frequently
  • how to delete (really nothing new here)

Another massive power savings is possible in email: Push vs Pull / Fetch
  • PUSH occurs from the server whenever the email server has content available for you. The email is sent willy-nilly, you get notification when received, and the app is basically running 24/7. Servers run notifications in real-time and thus can be very frequent, causing much more traffic to/from the user.
  • PULL is initiated by the user by activating the App, and thus saves tons of RF / cellphone data traffic and battery power.
Using the Pull/Fetch setting and looking for email when you NEED to, is very practical as most of us are NOT getting even one email / 30 minutes, so checking once/hour and quitting the App is a practical solution
