WTF?! With everything that's happened to TikTok over the last few days, it's no surprise that the app and owner ByteDance have rarely been out of the news cycle. There have even been reports that YouTube's most-subscribed star, Jimmy Donaldson, aka MrBeast, is in the race to buy TikTok's US operations, though his spokesperson said discussions are ongoing.

Donaldson posted a jokey message on X on January 13 that read, "Okay fine, I'll buy Tik Tok so it doesn't get banned." A day later, he wrote that "Unironically I've had so many billionaires reach out to me since I tweeted this, let's see if we can pull this off."

Donaldson taking over TikTok might be more plausible than it sounds. There were reports earlier this month that Chinese authorities were considering selling TikTok to X owner Elon Musk. Donald Trump has said he is open to Musk or fellow tech billionaire Larry Ellison buying the app in the US.

On Tuesday, law firm Paul Hastings announced that it is advising a syndicate of investors led by Recruiter.com founder/CEO Jesse Tinsley in an all-cash offer to acquire TikTok's US operations and various assets from ByteDance. It adds that the investor group comprises institutional investors and high-net-worth individuals, including MrBeast.

The statement does not include the size of the bid, though Trump said the app was valued at $1 trillion with a "permit" to operate in the US under 50% US ownership. Donaldson's net worth is estimated to be around $1 billion.

On Tuesday evening, Donaldson replied to a tweet about his bid to buy TikTok alongside investors. He wrote that "The leading groups who are all credible bidding on Tik Tok have reached out for us to help them, I'm excited to partner/make this a reality. Big things cooking"

While all signs point to Donaldson trying to become a part-owner of US TikTok, MrBeast spokesperson Matthew Hiltzik said the YouTube star hasn't yet officially joined any bids. "Several buyers are holding ongoing discussions with Jimmy," Hiltzik told The Associated Press on Wednesday. "He has no exclusive agreements with any of them."

After blocking access for US users on Saturday, hours before it was due to be banned, TikTok's services began returning on Sunday, for which the company thanked Trump. On his first day in office on Monday, the president issued an executive order telling the DoJ not to enforce the Protecting Americans from Foreign Adversary Controlled Applications Act or to punish those who violate it for 75 days.

TikTok is still not available to download from the Apple App and Google Play Stores after being removed over the weekend.

Mr. Beast is a private citizen, so he isn't subject to nearly the level of scrutiny that we are supposed to subject public servants to, but here goes:

34 of the most tame White-collar convictions in existence. Most believed (even Dems like Chris Cuomo) were only brought due to a weaponized DoJ

J6ers were only pardoned from J6. I'd agree with 99% of the J6 pardons, especially the ones who were non-violent, as opposed to the Biden(s), Fauci, Milley, and McCain pardons. Dems have no right to complain about 2-tiered justice anymore. J6 complaints are a manufactured narrative from the establishment-tech-media-Dem complex: the "mostly peaceful protests" people.

And who ran things so badly these past four years that Trump became the choice for a record 40% of LATINO voters? As James Carville loves to remind us, 'It's the economy, stupid!' And those churchgoers were probably homesick anyways, so, honestly, the taxpayer is doing THEM a favor, AND paying for their flight home!

Point to me a place where this isn't the case. It doesn't exist. Save for in religious communities, which, spoiler alert, tend to lean VEEEEEERY heavily towards the Right. Just ask the Amish, who turned out in uncharacteristically large numbers this past election (I wonder why?)

Actually the western world is infected with pathological self-hating leadership. Just look at Trudeau and 80% of the current EU leadership who have allowed open borders to turn once beautiful cities into practical warzones, or whose leaders demand 'justice' in the form of ridiculous reparations. Answer this: How is it a good thing to accept people, en masse, into a developed nation with unique Liberty-Based prinicples from places that we would never want to move to? Wouldn't it be better for the world if, instead of fleeing their countries, those people put their supposed talents to use in making those countries better to live in? As opposed to just having the West be the place to move to, I'd rather have countries everywhere worth dying to get into, with their own citizenry fighting to make it as such, just as our ancestors fought bloody wars for the sake of America. Crazy concept!

There was no excuse for the LA fires to get as bad as they did. Only predictably terrible Dem management: allowing the reservior to run dry, along with horribly ill priorities like DIE hiring policies for the Fire Department, exacerbated this disaster so terribly. Under Ron DeSantis, those fires would have been put out in two days tops, because he wouldn't have forced upon the public the very pathological altruism that infects the Left and demands equality at any cost, as we can clearly see has happened with the LA fires. The DIE hire LA Fire Chief makes $400K and yet, won't even pull you out of a fire. That's called 'progress'!

Trimp has already reneged on his "cheap eggs" declaration, citing supply chain issues. (He never bothered to mention millions of chickens euthanized due to an avian flu outbreak).

The last time I was at the Philly Zoo, they lost most of their flock of peafowl to the disease. Only 3 remained, all male

As far as immigration goes, this one's for you:

I'm not going to dispute what you are vehemently claiming as "fact". That would be a gross waste of both mine, and the forum's time.

But I would ask you consider that 2024 was at, or near, the top of California wild fires incurred.
I would also ask you to considered that California suffered from severe >DROUGHT< in 2024.

Which, despite your insistence that mismanagement was the sole influence regarding reservoir levels, that the aforementioned >drought< may have, (at least in some small way), contributed to the issue.

Politicians are collectively liars, narcissists, and egomaniacs, bordering on psycopathically so.

However again, whether you choose to believe it or not, politicians only control the current narrative, not the physical reality of the natural world. Which is, (again, whether you choose to believe it or not), becoming more inhospitable as the years progress.

Too much thinking. Too much care. I am just surviving and only by the grace of God. I'm not living for anything per se. If I was a 95er I'd be out of my misery and if I was a 5er, flip a coin. Could end up surprising myself or getting unfathomable blessings. Could decide to identify as a 95er, expeditiously.
