Is my motherboard on the way out?

Hello All,

I think my motherboard is on it's way to silicon heaven, I'll list a few issues see what you think:

- Sometimes it fails to POST, just sits there on a blank screen, I need to turn it off at the mains to reset.

- About one is every three attempts to boot any operating system just crash

- My LG Blu-Ray drive is detected as a series of random characters, it never used to

- Occasionally USB peripherals go a bit odd, for example my USB headphones crackle, memory sticks don't show up

- Sometimes I get graphical issues on the start bar, e.g. random colors, looks like a TV that isn't tuned in

What do you think? It's not memory issues, the only thing I can think of that links all the problems is my motherboard.

It may be your motherboard. However, before reaching any conclusion I suggest that you remove all components, clean the system and reseat them on the motherboard again. Do fresh install of your OS and reinstall all drivers. See if there's any improvement. Also ensure that your PSU is working fine.

If nothing helps then it's time for "silicon heaven" as you say.
