Is my videocard damaged?

Recently, while playing Spore (with new patch), my screen froze up and all I could see was a bunch of multicolored lines going from the bottom left to the the upper right of my screen. I thought it had to do with the patch but yesterday I was playing counter-strike and the same thing happened. I'm not sure if it's a card issue but my computer also freezes up completely when this happens and I have to turn it off manually. Any idea, guys?

I'm playing with 6800GT and the rest of my computer is pretty much up to date on everything.

Thats a sign of the memory on the card getting too hot, or not working properly, a defective card.

Make shure case door is open and take a big fan against it and see if it happens again. If it does then uninstall drivers in safe mode, and reinstall latest forceware drivers,,, gl,,

No, everything on the desktop is fine. It doesn't freeze when I'm not gaming.
