Is this a good gaming PC?

I am looking at this PC for gaming but I don't want to pay much and I was looking around and I was wondering if this was a OK gaming computer it has
  • Processor 2.80GHz AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual-Core
  • RAM, standard 3GB PC2-5300 DDR2 SDRAM
  • Hard Drive details 400GB 7200RPM SATA
  • NVIDIA GeForce 6150 SE

I know it would need a new grphics card (I was looking at a nvida 9600 GT) but other than that is it ok

It sounds like an OEM HP or something.

I know HP/Compaq used to rip the graphics slots off the mobo, idk if they still do, you may want to crack the case open before you buy it to ensure there is a PCIe slot there.

I think the place to start is, what is your budget? And, yes, the 9600 GT would by far be a better video card. Keep in mind, games are graphic intensive and that card when it came out had one of the lowest graphics adapters on the market. In a word, it is obsolete.

The only way your system can utilize 4 gigs of RAM is if your OS is a 64 bit OS. 3 gigs will do you fine.

Everything else is okay, but go cautiously in light of GameJunkie's advice. You will need a PCI-e slot on that motherboard.
