Is Virusfighter A virus?

Need HELP real soon. I am helping a freind by remote and she has some bugs to take care of. I did a search and found virusfighter. Did a serch on the net and found some tools to remove it. I says after 30 days it will try to trash the computer. Is that true? What is the best way to get rid of the file? Some suggested to use a spyware program to remove. Would Avg be okay?The computer is running XP. Is this really a virus?

Is Virusfighter a Virus

I will do the 8 steps. One question. She has a outdated trend mjcro loaded on the computer. Can I run another anti viru? What about Avg antivirus and should I remove Trend Micro?Waiting before I start.

Remove Trend Micro from add/remove programs (XP). Programs and Features (Vista) in controlpanel.

Reboot. DO NOT install AVG. I suggest you install Avast or Avira, as mentioned in the 8 step guide
