Joost bows to YouTube and Hulu, moves to platform strategy

  1. Having failed to compete against the likes of YouTube and Hulu, Joost is retreating from the consumer market and will instead focus on building white label video platforms for “cable and satellite providers, broadcasters and video aggregators” – essentially licensing its technology to third parties. As part of the restructuring plan, Joost will also close its Netherlands office, lay off a large number of employees and appoint a new CEO.

    they host movies , tv shows that kinda stuff , maybe the recession got them
  4. Maybe they should think about making a plugin for Windows Media Center, Boxee and all the other media center software out there. Don't know if the numbers are great but it would set them apart from the rest.
